We love Action for Happiness in school and have the monthly poster displayed in our staffroom. You can download one here. If you would like a printed version, please ask in the school office.

Open Minds Calderdale provides advice, information, support and signposting on local and national emotional health and wellbeing services that help children, young people and families who are going through a difficult time or just need a little bit of extra help. They have also written a guide around emotional health and wellbeing for parents in conjunction with parents.
Open Minds Calderdale also have an Emotional Health and Wellbeing offer specifically for under 17s – information on their services including Kooth, Time Out and Chat Health can be found here.
Place 2 be have a new service called Parenting Smart. There are videos and practical tips to support children’s wellbeing and behaviour on a range of different topics such as building listening skills, secondary school transition and nurturing talents.
The school website has information under the ‘Useful Information for Parents’ tab on sleep and healthy eating.
The NHS has produced some short audio clips to help you through feelings such as low mood, anxiety and problems with sleep.
Local services
Healthy minds Calderdale have now re-opened their Safespace service which offers emotional support for those in distress during the weekends and evenings. Safespace is now available every evening from 6.30 – 10.30pm. The last call taken will be at 10pm.

ChatHealth is brought to you by Healthy Futures Calderdale, and is an NHS-approved secure and confidential text messaging service. It allows you to get in touch with a healthcare professional, at the touch of a button, for advice and support about physical health or emotional wellbeing. The specialist teams can support families with things like: sleep, bullying, healthy eating, allergies, continence, safeguarding, sexual health, behavioural problems, emotional wellbeing, relationships, drugs and alcohol, bereavement, puberty and growing up, complex health needs, and body worries, and can signpost or refer on to other services as appropriate.

From 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, we have experienced clinicians waiting to help. Messages outside this time frame will receive an automated response letting you know when you will receive a reply, and who to contact to get immediate help.

Noah’s Ark has a Counselling Service for both adults and children alongside a Money Advice Service supporting adults with debt advice and budgeting training.
A Calderdale Mum to Mum Breastfeeding Support Group has been set up on Facebook. The page is a private, local Facebook Group where Breastfeeding Peer Supporters can chat to local mums, answer questions and give support. All questions are answered by trained Breastfeeding Peer Supporters.
Calderdale council have advice and support on domestic violence and have information in different languages including polish, Urdu and Czech as well as English. Click here for further information.
