History

 At St Augustine’s we believe that all pupils can communicate their knowledge and ideas through their history work.

Enquiry questions are used throughout each unit so children can refer to what they are learning and why.

We want pupils to develop their historical vocabulary, an understanding of time, to use and develop their historical investigative skills.

The curriculum and planning is adapted appropriately for those children with SEND and those that are new to English so that skills and knowledge are developed alongside children’s confidence.

To make history fun and hands on we invite visitors into school and go out and explore our local area.
